Disassemble and Remove the Old Lock

Step 1: Using a screwdriver, unscrew the two screws on the inner and outer handles, then remove the handle. Step 2: Insert another screwdriver into the bottom hole to prevent the mortise lock from falling. Using the thumb latch, make sure the key is pointed in the downward position, so the mortise lock will be easily removed. Step 3: Using a screwdriver, remove the two screws from the door while holding the mortise lock. Step 4: While holding the mortise lock, move it downwards and remove it from the glass door.

Install the New Lock

Step 1: Using the thumb latch, make sure the key is pointed in the downward position. Step 2: Insert the mortise lock top first while holding the latch. Step 3: Using a screwdriver, screw in the two screws in the original holes. Remove the screwdriver from the hole once the mortise lock is screwed into the door. Step 4: Align the inner and outer handles, then screw in the two screws with a screwdriver.
